Objectives and competences

The aim of this expert degree is to provide theoretical and practical training in the field of mental health and migration. It follows a teaching approach that integrates various psychological and psychosocial methods based on a gender perspective and takes into account the type of content covered. The course explores the relationship between migration and physical and mental health, examining stress and grief related to migration as particular risk factors and proposing models of intervention at different levels, from the individual to the community.

Objectives

Acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills for professional practice in areas related to mental health and migration, minorities and socially excluded groups.

To gain an understanding of the gender perspective and know how to apply it in intervention with migration, minorities and socially excluded people.

Psychologists, psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, social workers, social educators, sociologists and other professionals in mental health, gender and migration.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
