Objectives and competences

This course is a UB postgraduate programme equivalent to 60 ECTS credits. The master's programme, which has been offered since academic year 1989-1990, is a personal, educational and professional experience in an international and intercultural context that welcomes students of a wide range of nationalities with different educational backgrounds and career paths. Classes begin each year in October and end in June (modules 1 to 6). July to September are devoted to writing a research report (modules 7 to 9). These final modules can be taken as distance courses.

Objectives and competences

Objectives

- To examine in detail the phenomenon of international society and to understand the complex institutional structure of its global relationships today.
- To analyse international organizations and the main issues in international cooperation between institutions (including peace-keeping, international economy and trade, development cooperation, protection and fostering of human rights, and the environment) starting from general examinations of contemporary history, international economy, public international law and international relations.

Graduates, diploma holders and engineers with Spanish or foreign qualifications who are interested in developing their professional career in international public services and non-governmental organizations.

Access requirements:
- academic transcript, qualification, interest in the course and the ability to work sistematically.
- Professional experience, foreign language skills and e experience of study abroad will also be taken into account.
