Objectives and competences

The course is aimed at degree and diploma holders in areas relating to the biomedical sciences who are interested in developing their professional activity in the scientific departments of the pharmaceutical industry. The course provides solid knowledge in the area of drugs and specifically in the design and development of the life cycle of a new drug. Professional placements allow students to work directly in pharmaceutical sector in a multidisciplinary setting. The teaching plan provides communication and presentation skills as well as leadership skills, analytical thinking, customer orientation, etc.

Objectives

- To acquire the specific professional training required to join a scientific department in the pharmaceutical industry and in preparation for higher positions in the medium and long term.
- To acquire theoretical and practical training to aid professional development within the pharmaceutical industry.
- To acquire broad theoretical knowledge in the scientific area of drugs.
- To acquire practical experience in the different stages of new drug development, to design a life-cycle management plan for a new drug.
- To acquire experience in team work and cooperation with other professionals in a multidisciplinary environment.
- To achieve the highest possible levels of interpersonal communication and organization.
- To acquire a detailed understanding and direct experience of professional practice in the pharmaceutical sector.
- To acquire communication skills and presentation techniques.
- To develop other skills and competencies related to leadership, analytical and conceptual thought, customer orientation, relationship development, impact and influence management, initiative and commitment to the organization.

Recommended applicant profile

- Graduates or holders of pre-EHEA diplomas in life sciences, health sciences or related subjects such as Pharmacy, Medicine, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Veterinary Science.
- Recent graduates looking to work in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Active professionals who need to broaden and structure their knowledge in this area.

Admission requirements: bachelor's degree and an English level equivalent to a TOEFL score of 65-95 (a previous English test will be taken).
