Objectives and competences

This master's degree offers the conceptual and practical elements necessary for the analysis and approach of family violence from various areas in order to contribute to the decrease in the number of cases, to better prevention and detection, and to be able to ensure effective help in cases where the problem has already occurred. Students explore this current and particularly serious issue in depth in order to fully understand the problem and be capable of detecting it and offering guidelines for prevention and treatment.

Objectives

- Acquire the capacities required to detect, assess and treat the various forms of family violence and to prevent them. Specific objectives:
- Acquire the conceptual, attitudinal and procedural principles required to comprehend, anticipate, identify, assess and treat family violence.
- Know the techniques and methodologies though available resources and programmes.
- Create a space for reflection and group discussion of the issue from an inter-disciplinary standpoint, for the design of research-intervention projects.
