Objectives and competences

This program is adapted to the Catalan Health System
Advanced specialization in Primary Care Nursing, with which you can guarantee quality care to the patient throughout their life cycle. The course equips participants with the resources they need to effectively resolve the most commonly occurring clinical cases and situations in day-to-day nursing practice in primary care. This is a programme that earns points applicable towards the Institut Català de la Salut's job vacancies.

Objectives and competences

Objectives

General objective:
- To acquire information on topics related to nursing activities and tasks within primary care and to refresh and enhance competences and skills.

Specific objectives:
- To put into practice nursing care in the different areas of primary care.
- To apply relational advice in the care context: listening, recognition, offer, demand and agreement.
- To understand the importance of a quality, evidence-based care approach.
- To apply a basic methodology for designing personalized care plans for patients at home, which also reflects the needs of the principal carer.
- To be familiar with the drug groups most commonly used in primary care, and the information that must be provided to patients with respect to drug treatments.
- To understand the methodology used by the case manager, and the functions they have in dealing with health situations.
- To face the complexity of the activities carried out in the framework of the protocol for preventive and health-promotion activities.
