Objectives and competences

Objectives

The programme emerges from the need to introduce and standardise the training of professionals in intervention for the field of community mental health. The adoption of a community approach to address the complex reality of mental health, especially in terms of public health, is a trend practically everywhere, a model favoured by global health organizations and the reality of welfare in Spain and Catalonia.

In order to implement community health services for mental health, together with the interdisciplinary nature of teams and work networks, the academic programme needs to integrate the knowledge, skills, attitudes and experiences required by graduates who aim at practising this methodology in their profession, both in the private field and in the public sector.

Therefore, we are committed to offering an academic and institutional framework that will allow students to gain the theoretical perspectives, the technical competences, the methodological abilities and the practical experience for a specialization in mental health.
