Objectives and competences

This course provides specialized training for gemmologists. The objective of this course is for students to acquire the knowledge they need to grade diamonds, both rough crystals and cut material, and to be able to identify all types of diamond substitutes (moissanite, zirconite, YAG, etc.). In the theoretical aspect, comprehensive knowledge of the diamond is developed from all points of view and the use of recent advanced techniques.

Recommended applicant profile

Gemmologists who want to develop their knowledge of natural and synthetic diamonds, their treatments and substitutes.

Students with a university degree obtain an advanced university diploma, while those without a university degree receive a university extension certificate.

Access requirements: receive the title of gemmologist

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
