Objectives and competences

This is a basic course in project management. The primary objective of the course is to prepare students for employment in the field. This course is intended for graduates, pre- and post-docs in health sciences who wish to apply the knowledge gained during their academic career to the development of pharmaceutical and biomedical products.

Students will gain:
1) Basic skills in project management in the pharmaceutical and biomedicine industry.
2) Knowledge of the companies in the structure and the opportunity to build a network of professional contacts.
3) Access to a job vacancies and employment contracts based on a selection process carried out by the companies.

Objectives

General objective:
- To acquire basic knowledge of the management of biomedical or biotechnological research projects, specifically in the fields of preclinical and clinical research of new drugs or health products, to gain the skills and competences required to join the job market as a project manager.

Specific objectives:
- To receive training in project management in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector.
- To gain familiarity with the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector in the region.
- To gain access to the professional world through work placement in companies.

At the end of the teaching period, students can choose to undertake paid placements in companies in the sector. The companies are responsible for the placement student selection process. The final decision will always depend on both parties: the student and the company.
