Objectives and competences

The postgraduate course aims to cover the need for training in the care and treatment of maternal mental pathologies with a model based on scientific evidence and valuable clinical practices and open to professionals who have to attend to these pathologies. Not only mental health professionals are involved in the care of TMP (Perinatal Mental Disorders) but also all those health professionals who attend to women and their babies in this period. The postgraduate course provides participants with a basic understanding of perinatal mental health from a gender perspective.

Objectives

- Train students for the detection, comprehensive assessment and treatment of serious mental disorders in women in the perinatal stage and their complications, acquiring knowledge about specific assessment and intervention models. - Provide tools for the realization, management and coordination of multidisciplinary intervention plans in each of the perinatal stages, and from the different levels of care.

Recommended applicant profile

- Professionals or graduates in clinical psychology, psychiatry or nursing specialist in mental health.
- Other professionals, with a university degree in health sciences, who want to develop their work focusing on attention to serious mental pathology in the perinatal stage. Admission to the master's degree will be prioritized by experience and acceptance will be determined according to the applicant's submitted curriculum and statement of interest.
Academic requirements: English level B2 (some required readings and videos are in English)
