Objectives and competences

This course is an innovative, pioneering and priority master's degree that trains students to draw psychologically significant conclusions based on given data. It aims to increase interdisciplinary exchanges between behavioural and psychological professionals and professionals in data intelligence, machine learning or computational modelling, given that huge amounts of data are currently being generated and conclusions are being drawn in all fields without considering the psychological factors at play.

Objectives

- To enable participants to draw psychologically meaningful conclusions from the data analysed.
- To gain rigorous knowledge of the most common data science and machine learning techniques applied to human behaviour.
- To acquire a range of practical skills that will enable them to launch or enhance their professional careers as data scientists.

Applicant profile and access requirements

Recommended applicant profile

- University graduates in the social and behavioural sciences: psychology, sociology, economics, educational sciences, political sciences.
- In the case of professionals from other disciplines, they can access the programme as long as their training is validated beforehand.

Academic requirements:
- English level B2 (some required readings and videos are in English).
- A basic knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics is mandatory (at the university introductory course level).
- Previous knowledge of a programming language (such as C++, Java, Python or SQL) is recommended.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
