Objectives and competences

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the world of computer forensics and to acquire knowledge of the theoretical foundations and the current legal framework, as well as to learn about the main tools available in computer forensics and their application in real examples, such as a computer viruses.
In addition to introducing the legal framework, the course offers a practical approach which focuses on obtaining evidence, the investigation process, the chain of custody, analysis and forensic techniques, types of cyber-attacks and incident response teams.
