Objectives and competences

This training programme enables students to create their own social project in both international and local cooperation. Over the course of the sixty credits that make up the master's degree programme, students begin the process of creating their own social project, gain knowledge in the field of NGO management and administration and acquire communication and leadership skills. There are three options to choose from: professional, researcher or entrepreneur to do the specialization in the second year. Upon completing the master's degree programme, graduates will be prepared to successfully manage an organization or to work in the third sector.

Objectives and competences

Objectives

General objective:
- To acquire knowledge about the administration and management of NGOs, both within the framework of international cooperation and on local scale, and know how to pragmatically apply that knowledge to the development of a social project.

Specific objectives:
- To understand the system of international cooperation and the role of NGOs throughout history.
- To gain an understanding of the third sector and the social economy to foster social entrepreneurship.
- To develop internal capacities and improve emotion work as a step prior to developing social projects.
- Learn the legal framework that the creation of an NGO requires.
- To learn about funding methods and acquire tools for raising funds.
- To acquire an understanding of the basic concepts of economic and financial management and accounting for an NGO.
- Develop communication strategies to portray the organization in the media and promote a positive institutional image.
- Master the communication techniques required to sell a social project.
- To acquire skills to manage human resources within the framework of NGOs, including voluntary and paid staff.
- To learn management strategies and develop leadership skills.
- To develop strategic thinking for managing an organization
- To create and develop an innovative social project based on knowledge gained during the specialization.
