Objectives and competences

This course aims to train professionals in menstrual education so that it can be incorporated into organizations active in different fields, such as health, education and social work. The theoretical bases of menstrual education are combined with practical training, offering resources and educational materials from the perspective of health, socio-cultural contexts, and the primary areas intervention. Participants will have the opportunity to hear the experiences of professionals as a means to re-signify the menstrual cycle and put menstrual education into practice from a positive, sustainable and integral perspective, based on self-knowledge and cyclical recognition.

Objectives

It is designed to provide the theoretical and practical bases of menstrual education from the perspective of health, socio-cultural contexts, and its primary areas of application and intervention.

In addition, as main objectives, it aims to equip participants with the knowledge needed to perceive the fact of menstruating from a positive, inclusive, sustainable and integral standpoint, based on self-knowledge and menstrual and cyclical recognition, and to offer material and educational resources, as well as the experiences of health and menstrual education professionals, in order to re-signify what we know about our menstrual cycle and to bring that new knowledge into educational practice and other professional arenas.

Recommended applicant profile

This training is intended for anyone interested in the area of menstrual education or who already has experience in the field and would like to earn an official qualification.

Specifically, it is aimed at professionals working in formal and non-formal education, health and community health, social intervention, psychology and even human resources professionals who want to bring menstrual education into the workplace.

In addition, students in their final year of training or people without previous academic qualifications are also welcome to enrol in the course.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.

Observations:Classes will be online. 1 session per week on Thursdays from 5 to 7 pm for the theoretical sessions and from 5 to 8 pm for the practical sessions.
