Objectives and competences

This master's degree equips future medical professionals with the competences and skills they will need to thoroughly study the lifestyle, environment and genetic, physiological and biochemical factors of the patient. This will allow them to design effective and safe personalized treatment plans that will yield optimal results, ultimately prolonging life and improving its quality and control and even preventing the loss of physical and mental faculties that these factors entail. The master's degree gives the tools to help predict and delay the diseases that each individual is predisposed to suffer, creating a lifestyle through nutrition, supplementation, physical exercise and other complementary tools.

Objectives and competences

Objectives

- To know the physiology, biochemistry and pathophysiology of ageing-related diseases.
- To gain mastery, based on rigorous scientific knowledge, in the treatment of chronic diseases that develop with the passage of time according to individual lifestyles, and to understand prognosis methods and prevention guidelines through physiological treatments.
- To learn to establish an accurate medical history and conduct physical explorations to diagnose diseases or risk factors.
- To learn the required criteria to order tests and additional analytic tests and to interpret them.
- To learn to use in professional consultations knowledge gained on the influence of certain habits and nutrition on health.
- To provide food guidelines and prescribe nutritional supplements, physical exercise, and hormones (when necessary).
- Promote healthy habits and disease prevention guidelines for the general population.

Doctors, mainly from the specialization in cosmetic medicine or plastic and reconstructive surgery, although the programme is open to doctors with any other medical specialization.
