Objectives and competences

This online postgraduate diploma course of 30 ECT credits allows students to acquire the theoretical knowledge they need to able to care for critically ill patients in intensive care units, emergency rooms or pre-hospitalization urgent care units. This multidisciplinary course is intended for medical professionals (medicine and nursing).

It deals in depth with all aspects related to the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, monitoring, actions, therapy and follow-up in the various pathologies that can affect a critically ill patient. The lessons have been designed to follow the patient's continuum of care.

Recommended applicant profile

Diploma holders in nursing, degree holders in medicine and degree holders in other health sciences who have professional experience in care for the critically ill or emergencies.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
