Objectives and competences

The master's degree in Critical and Emergency Care is an interdisciplinary programme aimed at various professionals in the field of health sciences, for the improvement of the skills necessary for the care of seriously ill patients. It is an inter-university master's degree in permanent training, with a title awarded by the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Madrid. It has a modular structure consisting of 120 ECTS credits and allows students to acquire the knowledge, skills and competences through following the continuum of care of a critically ill patient from pre-hospital emergencies, emergencies and intensive care in the different disciplines.

Recommended applicant profile

Graduates in nursing, medicine or any health science field. Previous work experience in emergency and critical care is not required.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
