Objectives and competences

This course aims to discuss the current burden of NCDs worldwide, and specifically in LMICs, its underlying determinants, the response of health systems, prevention and control strategies, the global response to NCDs and methodological and conceptual problems in NCD research.

Objectives

To treat the most globally prevalent (chronic) non-communicable diseases from a variety of different perspectives ranging from a clinical to a public health standpoint with the aim of achieving a space for learning and reflection in order to enhance knowledge, understanding, analysis and assessment of what these diseases mean in the context of global health.

Postgraduate students or professionals interested in non-communicable diseases in the context of international and global health.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
