Objectives and competences

The course offers students the opportunity to delve deeper into health problems through the examination of determining factors of a social nature. We will analyse the underlying factors that determine these problems and the complex interactions that shape life and health, well-being and inequality among populations across the globe. Understand how recognition of social determinants of heath could improve the formulation and application of policies and programmes.

- To learn and understand the main determinants of world health, with particular emphasis on the most disadvantaged populations of countries with middle and low incomes.
- Understand how recognition of social determinants of heath could improve the formulation and application of policies and programmes.

University degree holders. with training, experience or interest in international or global health or health determinants.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
