Objectives and competences

The programme focuses on the topic from a holistic perspective so that professionals can better support families with children from 0 to 3 years of age using a reflective approach while strengthening their professionalization in the discipline.

The aim is to achieve theoretical and practical training in the 0-3 stage from the point of view of children, parents and the environment, with an emphasis on conceptual rigour and depth, an innovative and critical mindset, and interdisciplinarity in the construction of knowledge.

Objectives and competences

Objectives

- Acquire knowledge, strategies and skills for teamwork with children and their families, so as to contribute to increasing the families' confidence in their competences as educators of their children.
- Acquire further, strategic understanding of the different professional roles and tasks, multidisciplinary team work, planning, and community and network practice.
- Acquire specialized training for educational intervention with young infants, with the participation of families.
- Reflect on one's own educational practice, learn to write report and observations, and evaluate the different tasks and projects carried out, to guarantee service quality.
- Reflect on the conceptual referents to understand the different social and cultural contexts of families with young children.

Recommended applicant profile

Professionals and applicants with accredited experience or an interest in working with young children and their families. - Graduates in teacher training (specialization in early childhood education), social education, social work, nursing or pediatrics. - Graduates or holders of pre-EHEA diplomas in Education or Psychology. - Vocational training graduates in Early Childhood Education or related disciplines.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
