Objectives and competences

The aim of the lifelong learning master's degree in Child Neuropsychology is to train graduates in Psychology in neuropsychology diagnosis and intervention in childhood and adolescence. Notably, this master's degree course offers 2,000 hours of placements in specialized, leading centres such as Sant Joan de Déu. In addition, the course offers the total hours of theoretical training required by the Spanish National Accreditation of Psychologists Specialized in Clinical Neuropsychology.

Objectives

- Acquire advanced training in child neuropsychology focused on the professional specialization in the diagnosis and neuropsychological intervention in childhood.
- To acquire knowledge on the normal and altered development of the nervous system and its relation with cognitive and emotional behaviour and function.
- Learn to use neuropsychological tests and other techniques to assess the functioning of the child, identify strengths and weaknesses, and diagnose the disorder.
- Learn how to plan, implement, and assess intervention strategies.
- Acquire the knowledge required to join multidisciplinary teams and also the fundamentals to design and present scientific work from the data obtained in clinical contexts.
