Detection and Intervention in Family Violence. The aim of this postgraduate course is to train professionals who are qualified to detect and intervene in cases of family violence. It provides suitable tools and guidelines to address the topic from an interdisciplinary perspective. For correct identification and action, factors must be considered in several areas that have an impact in some way on the development of family violence and are key to the right intervention.

Objectives and competences

Objectives

The aim of this postgraduate programme is to train students to detect forms of domestic violence and be able to intervene. By the end of the course, students will have gained:

- Acquire the notional, attitudinal and procedural bases needed to understand, detect, assess and intervene in situations involving different types of family violence.
- To understand the legal bases regulating the treatment of victims of physical abuse.
- To understand the techniques and methods for preventing, detecting and intervening in cases of domestic violence, and the existing resources and programmes for these purposes.
-To be able to derive the detected cases to the corresponding service, in addition to coordinating measures with other professionals.
- To learn to reflect and discuss from an interdisciplinary point of view.
- The capacity to design research-intervention projects.

Degree and diploma holders and professionals in the areas of healthcare, psychological and social care, education and the law wish to develop more specialized skills and knowledge.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
