Objectives and competences

This master's degree, the longest running in Europe (since 1986-87), trains specialists in drug addiction, both for its treatment and for prevention, including harm reduction. It does so in an interdisciplinary way, with an international student body. It looks at all drug and other behavioural addictions. A balanced balance between theory and practice is guaranteed in specialized concerted centres, as well as individualized tutoring and personal contact with dozens of theory and practice teachers who permanently update their teaching.

Objectives

- To acquire a broad, multidisciplinary understanding of drug consumption and addiction. All and addiction basic grounding in this field and study specialized areas in-depth, which are chosen according to professional and personal interests.
- To acquire the specialized knowledge required to work in the field of drug addiction, particularly in the areas of diagnosis, treatment, and the planning and implementation of prevention and harm reduction programmes.

Recommended applicant profile

Professionals with a university degree in health sciences or social intervention, including doctors, psychologists, social workers, nurses, social educators, pharmacists and teachers.
- Other graduates, subject to evaluation of specific merits.
- A limited number of applicants without university qualifications may be accepted. In this case, they will receive a university extension certificate.
