Objectives and competences

The diamond specialist course is a specialization course only offered to gemmologists. The aim of the same is to learn to know well the classification of the diamond, both of the raw crystals and of the cut material. Also the knowledge and identification of all diamond substitutes (moissanite, zirconite, YAG, etc.). In the theoretical aspect, comprehensive knowledge of the diamond is developed from all points of view and the use of recent advanced techniques.

- To learn to certify and evaluate diamonds.

Recommended applicant profile

Gemmologists who want to develop their knowledge of natural and synthetic diamonds, their treatments and substitutes.

Students with a university degree obtain a postgraduate diploma; those who do not have one obtain a university extension certificate.

Access requirements: receive the title of gemmologist

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
