Objectives and competences

The master's degree in Behavioural Data Science is an innovative, pioneering and priority master's degree that will enable those who take it to be able to draw conclusions, with psychological meaning, from the data. This proposal is made to increase interdisciplinarity between professionals in behaviour and psychology and professionals in Data Intelligence, machine learning or computational modelling. A lot of data is being generated and conclusions drawn from it in all areas, without taking Psychology into account.

Objectives

- To enable participants to draw psychologically meaningful conclusions from the data analysed.
- To gain rigorous knowledge of the most common data science and machine learning techniques applied to human behaviour.
- To acquire a range of practical skills that will enable them to launch or enhance their professional careers as data scientists.

Applicant profile and access requirements

Recommended applicant profile

- University graduates in the social and behavioural sciences: psychology, sociology, economics, educational sciences, political sciences.
- In the case of professionals from other disciplines, they can access the programme as long as their training is validated beforehand.

Required academic:
- English level B2 (some required readings and videos are in English).
- Students must have a basic understanding of descriptive and inferential statistics (at the university introductory course level).
- Previous knowledge of one or more programming languages is also recommended (such as C, Java, Python or SQL).
