Introduction

The double degree in Law and Industrial Relations at the University of Barcelona equips students with the necessary legal knowledge, in particular of the social dimension of law, and training to pursue careers as comprehensive managers of labour relations at companies or in labour market management.
The double degree in Law and Industrial Relations at the University of Barcelona provides thorough theoretical and practical academic training that combines legal content, both in general and from the specific field of labour and social security law, with knowledge from psychology, sociology, statistics, and the fields of business organization, recruitment and training, and human resources. It aims to meet the more specialized training needs of a significant segment of new students, as well as the social need for basic academic training in legal studies and human resources that integrates the content in a more interdisciplinary way. Graduates are qualified to pursue careers at law firms specialized in labour law, in corporate management (human resources), at companies dedicated to occupational hazard prevention, and at third-sector associations and labour and other specialized consultancies.

Placements

Placements in a company or another type of organization are an integral part of university studies, providing first-hand experience of working methodologies in students' chosen professional fields. They offer invaluable practical experience for the transition into work after graduation.

Placements are supervised by tutors and subject to assessment. They are therefore included in the academic record.  There is also an option to complete non-curricular placements of up to 500 hours, which can be extended to 900 hours. For both curricular and non-curricular placements, an educational cooperation agreement is signed between the UB and the company, institution or other organization at which the placement will be carried out.
