App incorporation

This document is intended for the different UB units, services and centres. It explains how an app should be developed in the context of the University in a coherent and unified manner. The guide includes general considerations that must be taken into account when developing mobile apps projects, as well as technical recommendations and adaptations to the corporate image of the UB.

    • Units, services, centres, and other related areas that aim to develop an app, following the established criteria for institutional mobile apps, must contact Corporate Image and Publicity unit.

      Corporate Image and Publicity will contact the promoters of the app to start the process of joint supervision along with this unit and the Information and Communication Technologies Area.

      1. A UB mobile apps request form must be filled.
      2. Development of the app: established considerations and recommendations in the UB mobile apps guide must be followed regarding technological development and corporate image use.
      3. Incorporation to the app stores: the apps that have been incorporated into UB mobile apps will be released through Google Play and App Store by the developer profile of the University of Barcelona.
      4. Launch of the app: mobile apps incorporated into UB mobile apps will be diffused through this website and the different UB platforms available in each case.
      5. Maintenance: in case an update is available, it must be duly informed through the form you can find at UBForms.

      UB Information and Communication Technologies Area, which manages UB apps' maintenance, offers technical assistance and supervision during the development of the app, as well as in the management and incorporation of the app into the app stores.

      If requested, Corporate Image and Publicity offer assistance to properly use the UB brand in the app and assistance and management for the diffusion.

      It must be taken into account that the University of Barcelona does not offer an app-development service or technical maintenance and support to users.
