Towards advanced nanomaterials for emerging technologies
The TOMA project intends to contribute to current society challenges by developing materials at the nanoscale in which size, morphology, structure, and composition can be tuned as required. The project explores the synthesis of multinary chalcogenides made of environmentally friendly and abundant elements, to be potentially used as light absorbers for energy conversion technologies, photocatalysis and novel therapeutic approaches. The project also considers the design of hybrid nanostructured materials formed by the coexistence of magnetic, plasmonic and/or semiconductor domains with the aim of exploiting simultaneously magnetic properties, either as a source of physical motion, biomedical imaging, or therapeutic heat, with light absorption.
TOMA (
PID2019-106165GB-C22) is funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
