Electrifying industry: Low-C ethylene production by plasma catalysis
DBD plasma catalysis has emerged as a promising technology for electricity driven CO2 conversion at low temperatures and ambient pressure as alternative to electrocatalysis. REPLAY project aims at developing an innovative DBD plasma catalytic reactor to produce low-carbon ethylene from carbon dioxide to allow the use of green electricity as a key for the transition to sustainability of the chemical industry. The reactor design will consider alternative configuration of the electrodes, to facilitate its scale-up by stacking several unitary cells, similarly to electrolysers, being a novel and compact design.
