Highly conductive Interfaces to reduce the cost of PEM Electrolyzers
INTELEC project aims at developing highly conductive components to sensibly reduce the cost of Proton Exchange Membrane Water Electrolyzers (PEMWEs) for green-hydrogen generation, offering innovative solutions. Cold Gas Spray will be employed as the manufacturing tool to produce titanium structured coatings with a double functionality, as protection layer and as flow pattern, using just 40% of the required Ti of a bipolar plate. In addition, hole transport materials will be developed as catalyst supports, allowing the fabrication of ultra-low iridium electrodes, boosting x4 the catalyst utilization and being economically and technically feasible for its implementation at large scale.
