Rosina Gironès, coordinator of the Hub for Global Sustainability, is a professor of Microbiology and Dean of the Faculty of Biology at the University of Barcelona. Her research interests include virology with a "One Health" approach, and she has more than 130 scientific publications. Dr Gironès has been a member of the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) Panel on Biological Hazards and of the WHO Technical Advisory Group on Water Quality and Health. She is currently chair of the Health-Related Water Microbiology Specialist Group of the IWA (International Water Association).

Teresa Andreu is a lecturer in the Department of Materials Science and Physical Chemistry and holds a degree in Chemistry and a PhD in Materials Science and Technology. She leads the research group attached to the Catalonia Energy Research Institute (2009-2020), is a member of the consolidated Materials for Surface Engineering (MES) group, and is the principal investigator of the Sustainable Electrochemical Processes group at the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (IN2UB). Her research focuses on the use of green electricity for the sustainability of the chemical industry, with the development of materials and reactors for hydrogen production, carbon dioxide conversion and waste valorization using (photo)electrochemical or plasma-catalytic technologies.

María del Carmen Llasat Botija is a professor of Atmospheric Physics at the Department of Applied Physics of the University of Barcelona and coordinator of the Meteorology Section, within which she leads the Group for the Analysis of Adverse Meteorological Situations (GAMA). Her research focuses on the improvement of knowledge, prevention and mitigation of meteorological risks in a context of climate and environmental change, from a holistic perspective and within a framework of interdisciplinary collaboration. She is also highly active in dissemination and awareness-raising in the fields of natural hazards and sustainable development through her participation in conferences, courses and media appearances. She also supervises the "Climate change" node.

Itziar Salazar is manager of the Hub for Global Sustainability. She holds a degree in Global Studies with a specialization in Political Science (Pompeu Fabra University) and obtained the master's degree in Global Challenges for Sustainability from the CHARM-EU European University alliance. She has particular expertise in global phenomena, transdisciplinary research and cultural awareness and has completed short stays at Trinity College Dublin and Université de Montpellier. She has also carried out various volunteer activities, both locally with the Association for the Conservation of Natural Ecosystems (assocCEN) and internationally with her participation in major conferences and events including the 9th Scientific Assembly of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS).
