Other Scholarships and Mobility Programs

BOBCATSSS  is an association of European faculties of library science and documentation, of which our faculty is a member. Each year, between January and February, it organizes a conference in a different city. The Faculty covers participation costs (travel and accomodation) for two students who commit to presenting a paper. The call for applications usually appears in April.

Programs managed by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Employment Service of Catalonia): 

  • Eurodyssey Program offers young people aged 18 to 30 the opportunity to move to another European country based on their foreign language skills and any prior work experience. Internships last between three and seven months, with a monthly salary €300. Accomodation with half board and language courses are subsidized by the host region.

  • Internships at Catalonia's Foreign Trade and Investment Offices, these internships last nine months full-time. Eligible applicants must hold a degree, be under 26 years old, and be registered as a job seeker at the SOC on the internship start date.

The European University Institute (EUI) is a European Union research center specializing in social sciences (history, law, economics, etc), located in San Domenico di Fiesole, Florence. Visit:  (https://www.eui.eu).

Each year, this institution offers a scholarship program for year-long internships. The approximate monthly remuneration is €1,330. Scholarship conditions: 

  • Duration: 12 months. 
  • Start date: February or October. 
  • Scholarship amount: €1,330 per month. 
  • Assistance with locating accomodation (student covers the cost). 
  • Reimbursement for one round-trip flight ticket. 

Candidate requirements: 

  • Hold a degree or master's from the Faculty in information and documentation studies. 
  • Have completed studies within the past two years. 
  • Good interpersonal skills and willingness to work in an international environment. 
  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge of English. 

Merits:

  • Strong academic record. 
  • Work experience in international settings or university / research libraries. 
  • Knowledge of additional languages.
