Quality

At the Faculty of Nursing, we understand quality as a cross-cutting value that essentially enables the continuous improvement of activities and adaptation to the constant demands of today’s society.

The Faculty’s quality system is based on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area, adopted by the European Ministers of Education in Bergen in 2005. It follows the guidelines established by the quality agencies in the AUDIT programme and complies with the requirements of the regulations governing official university degrees set by the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports.

Internal Quality Assurance System

The definition and development of the Internal Quality Assurance System in the centres (SAIQU) of the University of Barcelona (UB) was positively certified by AQU Catalunya for all UB centres in 2009 through the AUDIT programme. As a result of the review and improvement process—and in order to meet the guidelines of AQU Catalunya for SGIQ certification—the SAIQU UB model was updated in 2019. Currently, the SAIQU of the Faculty of Nursing integrates all activities related to quality assurance in its academic programmes, activities, and services. Like all UB centres, it is structured into six pillars and follows an established documentary framework.

Verification, Monitoring, Modification, and Accreditation (VSMA)

Throughout the life cycle of official study programmes, the processes of verification, monitoring, modification, and accreditation (VSMA) of the official degrees take place. At the Faculty, we work to link these internal processes in the most structured and integrated way through the Internal Quality Assurance System (SAIQU), thus promoting management efficiency and responding to various regulatory requirements.
