The Faculty

The Faculty of Nursing is a national and international leader in teaching and research.

Officially established as a faculty in 2023, it carries on the legacy of the former University School of Nursing, which began to offer training courses to prospective nurses in 1977. The Faculty strives to be a centre for everyone, putting quality, scientific rigour and human values at the service of students, teaching staff, technical staff and administrative and service personnel. The Faculty itself is located on the Bellvitge Campus, while teaching is also carried out on the Clínic Campus.

Get to know the Faculty

At the Faculty of Nursing we offer nursing training at all academic levels (bachelor's, master's and doctorate) as well as a wide range of lifelong learning options. The healthcare network we have for practical training and research is particularly noteworthy: seven university hospitals, twelve hospitals or associated institutions, forty-one primary care centres and three socio-health centres.

Both the Bellvitge Campus and the Clínic Campus have updated infrastructures to facilitate teaching and research: libraries, computer rooms, study rooms, wellness rooms, practice and research laboratories, clinical skills laboratories, and spaces for low, medium and high complexity clinical simulation.

The teaching staff is widely involved in consolidated teaching innovation groups, which guarantee quality teaching, and with recognized research groups, which ensure teaching linked to the most current advances in the field of nursing. Also noteworthy are the chairs linked to the healthcare and community spheres.

Governing bodies

The Dean's Office, currently made up of the Dean, three Vice-Deans and the Academic Secretary, constitutes, together with Administration, the Faculty's governing team. The Faculty Board and its delegated committees, the Academic Council and the working groups are part of the governing bodies of this institution.

Organization and structure

The Faculty of Nursing is located on the Bellvitge Campus and offers teaching both on this campus and at the Clínic. Each campus offers a range of study programmes supported by exceptional learning spaces and facilities that provide all the tools required for the key practical component of each course. On campuses there are also facilities for research and innovation tasks carried out by the departments of Fundamental and Clinical Nursing and Public Health, Mental Health, and Maternal and Child Health Nursing.

Administration

Administration at the Faculty of Nursing is the management body of the administrative and management units for students and academic staff, and also of the technical, management, and administration and service staff assigned to the Administration. The Administrator is the highest management authority of the Faculty and the delegated authority of the General Manager's Office in all relevant matters.
