Objectives and competences
The general objective of the master's degree is to provide training in studies on women and gender that is scientifically rigorous and at the same time applicable to problems of social interest.
The master's degree has a large team of experts with a long teaching experience and a recognized research trajectory, pioneer in the development of research projects funded in competitive calls at the regional, state and international level.
It has two specialties:
The specialty Women, Work and Public Policies aims to respond to a clear demand by society for people who can act as "agents of equality". To train people who are in a position to detect problems, provide answers, discuss and analyse policies, prepare budgets, etc., in the field of inequalities and discrimination between men and women.
The aim of the Theory, Criticism and Culture specialty is to deepen the knowledge of conceptual networks and theoretical discourses that make up the recent theoretical, academic and political debates on gender issues.

Organization and methodology
The programme of study consists of a total of 90 ECTS credits that are taught in two modalities with the same structure, specialties, subjects and subjects:
- Face-to-face
- Online (available on the UB Virtual Campus)
- Theory, Criticism and Culture. The aim of this specialty is to train researchers and professionals capable of applying gender mainstreaming to research, teaching and professional practice in all areas of scientific and technical knowledge, and in the social and human sciences.
- Women, Work and Public Policies. The aim of the specialty is to train professionals who can intervene in the design, implementation and evaluation of public policies from a gender and feminist perspective, and in the design, implementation and evaluation of equality plans.
The Master's Degree has a teaching load of 90 ECTS credits and is designed to be taken in two years; however, the student can enrol between 20 and 60 ECTS per course. The number of credits enrolled will determine the hours of dedication required by the student.

Tutorial action plan
The master's degree has support and guidance actions to accompany, guide and advise the student in their learning process at the UB, and in this way help them to make decisions based on studies, on improving performance, on increasing expectations, on professional orientation and, ultimately, on achieving good personal development.
The coordination of the master's degree has, among other functions, to meet the academic doubts in the organization of the master's degree, from the moment of the pre-enrolment until the final development of the courses and the Master's Final Project or Master's Practice Report.

The administrative doubts may be addressed by both the master's degree coordinator and the centre's Master's and PhD Secretariat.
The master's degree has links of collaboration with the Student Care Service (SAE), an office that offers all kinds of advice to the student, both academically and professionally. Depending on this collaboration, master's degree students can go to this Service individually to be advised on different issues, including work topics.
Scholarships and grants
It is advisable to consult thescholarships and grants for university master's students to find out about the requirements, procedures and deadlines for applying for a scholarship or grant.
There are scholarships and grants at any university stage and of all kinds: to carry out research, to participate in exchange programmes, to access summer courses, to extend studies or research abroad, to work as a reader, to do work placements in other countries, etc.

The University of Barcelona also facilitates the possibility of financing enrolment or even income for other expenses related to the follow-up of the course, through a credit with the collaborating financial institutions.
