Objectives and competences

The double degree in Archaeology and History offers training in critical knowledge of humanity's past to understand the present, and provides the necessary methodological and theoretical tools in terms of both the recognition and classification of materials, as well as field activity, in the laboratory and in the subsequent data processing.

The subjects selected from each course to configure the double degree will enable students to solve problems that will allow the transformation of data, archaeological and documentary, into quality historical knowledge. They provide knowledge about the theoretical and methodological contribution of various disciplines to optimize resources and improve the results of studies and research.

Organization and methodology

Teaching is structured in two semesters and, in general, the subjects are organized in face-to-face activities, and directed work activities. [877190]

Evaluation

The ordinary system of evaluation of the subjects is the continuous evaluation. This evaluative route consists of a series of activities and / or evaluable works throughout the semester, which can be concluded in a final synthesis test. This set of evaluable activities must allow to accredit the achievement of the objectives of the subject included in the teaching plan, both in terms of the competences to be acquired and the skills to be developed, as well as in terms of the theoretical or conceptual knowledge of the subject that the student must achieve and that must allow him to solve the activities applied in the practical aspect.

The student also has the possibility to take advantage of the single assessment in the conditions set by the regulations of the University of Barcelona.

The subjects have a unique call for evaluation. But there is the possibility of re-evaluating a subject when it has not been passed initially (either through the continuous assessment route or through the single assessment route).

TheTeaching Plan of each subject contains all the information related to the evaluation system of each of the modalities.

Final work

The Final Degree Project (TFG) is a basic subject, which is the culmination of the student's learning process. It consists of individual and autonomous work, tutored by a teacher, and presented and evaluated by an academic tribunal in public session.

La TFG Regulations which regulates the subject is approved by the Faculty Board.

Some of the papers presented can be consulted, by teaching, in the UB's digital repository:
