Non-curricular external placements
Extracurricular placements are not included in the programme curricula, are voluntary, and are paid.
They are formalized through educational cooperation agreements. They have a maximum duration of 500 hours per academic year (as approved by the Faculty's Academic Committee on 9 September 2016), and the company or institution is required to provide a minimum remuneration of €4 gross per hour (as approved by the Academic Committee on 28 June 2016).

- Students enrolled in any official degree programme offered by the University of Barcelona or its affiliated centres.
- Students from other Spanish universities who are undertaking a national mobility stay at the UB may also participate, provided that it is allowed by the national mobility programme in which they are enrolled or by existing agreements.
- Students from foreign universities may participate depending on the international programmes that allow their academic affiliation with the UB.
- Undergraduate students must have passed at least 50% of the credits (120 credits). In the case of master’s or postgraduate students, there is no requirement regarding completed credits.
- Students must not have any contractual relationship with the company or institution where the placement is carried out.
- They must be enrolled in the programme for which they are applying for the placement.
- They must not have applied for the degree certificate of the programme for which they are applying for the placement.
If you are interested, you must register in GIPE (the application for managing external placements) and, within the relevant call for applications, you can access the offers made by companies looking to recruit students from your degree programme.
You must attach your CV and apply for the offers that interest you. The company or institution will select candidates based on their CVs and, if applicable, a personal interview, and will then formally request the placement.
If you wish to carry out a placement at a company or institution that does not appear among the GIPE offers, you must contact the Secretary's Office for Students and Teaching Staff.
Under no circumstances may you begin the placement without the training agreement signed by all parties involved.
You must first register in GIPE (the application for managing external placements) and complete the CV required by the platform. When an internship offer that interests you becomes available, you must submit an application. The company or institution will make the selection based on the submitted CV and, if applicable, a personal interview. Once the company has selected the student, the formal placement agreement is processed and signed by the student, the company, and the coordinator at the Faculty.
Under no circumstances may you begin the placement without the training agreement signed by all parties involved.
If you wish to carry out a placement at a company or institution that does not appear among the GIPE offers, you must contact the Secretary's Office for Students and Teaching Staff and request approval from the academic coordinator of your programme (master’s coordinator).
