Facilities and Equipment

The Faculty, inaugurated in 2006, has a modern building with five floors and a basement, with classrooms of different types, offices, seminar rooms, laboratories, and spaces for students and administration. It includes laboratories for archaeology, geography, cartography, contemporary history, and cinema, an archaeology practice field, a weather station, and specialized classrooms, such as the music classroom, the artistic techniques workshop, or the multimedia classroom. It also houses the Research Institute in Medieval Cultures and its own scientific services. Another strength of the Faculty is having the CRAI Library of Philosophy, Geography, and History. The CRAI Library offers more than 300,000 monographs, journals, computer rooms, and group work spaces. The Faculty also has a cafeteria and a photocopying service.

Computer Classrooms 

The Faculty of Geography and History has five computer classrooms dedicated to teaching, two on the second floor and three on the third floor. Classrooms 315 and 316 on the third floor are equipped with the appropriate software to work with GIS software. 

The use of these classrooms is regulated by a set of rules that must be respected, which are as follows: 

  • Eating, drinking, or smoking is not allowed inside the computer classrooms. 

  • Care must be taken with the equipment, and if anything is found to be damaged, the staff must be informed. 

  • The work of others must be respected, and silence must be maintained. 

  • Only the programs installed in the classroom may be used. Reconfiguring the terminal is not allowed. 

  • Files cannot be saved on the C drive. A D drive (data) is available for temporarily saving documents (as they are periodically deleted). 

Students who fail to follow the rules may be expelled from the classroom. 

Photocopying and Catering Services 

The Faculty also houses companies operating under concession that provide complementary services to facilitate university life, such as the photocopying service and the catering service. 
 

  • Photocopying 

    The Faculty has a reprography service, operated under concession by the private company Niemon Impressions, SL. 

    Physically, the photocopying service is located at the entrance on Carrer de les Ramelleres.

  • Catering 

    The bar-restaurant service, managed by the company Universitas, is located on floor -1 of the building. It also has a microwave space and a terrace.
