On 16 May 2019, the Governing Council approved the new Protocol of the University of Barcelona for the prevention, detection, and response to situations of sexual harassment and harassment based on sex, gender identity and sexual orientation, and other sexist behaviour, updating the protocol approved on 13 February 2014. A guide has also been developed for its application.

To ensure safe application of the Protocol, there is a mailbox  for cases of gender-based and LGBTIQ+-phobic violence, offering individualised support for any incident related to your gender identity or sexuality.

You can also write to the email: protocol.igualtat@ub.edu or call the phone number: 690 052 987.

The University of Barcelona, in its Third Equality Plan, has incorporated the gender perspective into teaching through the Guide for the incorporation of the gender perspective into the teaching plans and subjects of the UB.

The Language Services present the new criteria for writing inclusive texts (both in Catalan and Spanish). These criteria result from an agreement between several Catalan universities and aim to ensure equal visibility for men and women in institutional texts. The criteria also follow the basic principles of the Agreement on the non-sexist use of language, a reference document that ensures consensus on this issue in public administration. You will find various strategies and some of the limits to be considered when applying them. It also outlines the best resources depending on the type of document.
Since 2020, on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, every 11 February, the Equality Commission of the Faculties of Philosophy and of Geography and History organises a tribute to pioneering women in the fields of philosophy, social and cultural anthropology, archaeology, geography, history, and art history.

Consult the tributes.
