Quality

The Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences considers quality an essential value for ensuring the credibility and trustworthiness of university institutions.

The Faculty’s quality system certified its design in 2009 through the AUDIT programme. The design of this system is based on the standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area developed by the European Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and adopted by European education ministers in Bergen (2005). It also follows the guidelines established by the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency  (AQU Catalonia), the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) and the Agency for Quality Assurance in the Galician University System (ACSUG) in the AUDIT programme. It complies with the requirements of the regulations established in the Ministry of Education and Science’s official university education guidelines.

Internal quality assurance system

The Faculty’s quality system includes all activities related to quality assurance for official bachelor’s and master’s degrees. It implements the internal quality assurance system (IQAS) as the tool to be used both in the design phase of the courses and in their continuous monitoring to ensure that the objectives associated with the training are achieved.

Verification, monitoring, modification and accreditation

Throughout the life cycle of official degree programmes, processes for the verification, monitoring, modification and accreditation (VSMA) of official qualifications take place. The Faculty works to integrate these internal processes in the most structured and integrated way possible through the internal quality assurance system (IQAS), thereby promoting management efficiency and responding to various regulatory requirements.

Data and indicators

Data and indicators are considered essential tools for monitoring the situation of key aspects of the Faculty. Similarly, they provide the basis for improvement actions and enable their monitoring. Some of these indicators come from sources external to the Faculty that are public for all stakeholders.
