Mobilitat internacional
National and international mobility and exchange programmes improve the quality of higher education and provide academic and professional benefits that contribute to the holistic development of the individual. For this reason, many students from diverse backgrounds spend part of their studies each year in a country other than their own.
The Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences promotes student mobility to enrich their university education, both personally and academically, through conventions and exchange agreements.
Each academic year, students from our Faculty study part of their course at other universities in Spain or abroad, and at the same time, students from other cities and countries come to our centre for a temporary stay.
Through international mobility programmes you can undertake an academic stay at a foreign university as part of your university studies. These programmes have three fundamental characteristics:
- Study period: for Pharmacy students the maximum period is twenty-four months and for Food Science and Technology or Human Nutrition and Dietetics students it is twelve months. The entire period does not have to be consecutive.
- Enrolment: the student must be enrolled at the UB in the teaching and academic year of the exchange period, but will be exempt from paying academic fees at the host university. However, they may occasionally be required to pay small compulsory fees for items such as insurance, student unions, or the use of certain materials, under the same conditions as local students.
- Academic matters: the recognition of the studies undertaken at the host university is guaranteed, provided that this has been agreed upon before the stay and that all the necessary procedures are followed.
Therefore, if you undertake an academic stay abroad through the University of Barcelona's international mobility programmes, you will be exempt from paying tuition fees at the host university and will be able to have the modules and courses you take during your exchange recognised.

Erasmus+ Studies: the ERASMUS programme was established by the European Commission to promote student exchanges within the Union. The aim of the ERASMUS programme is to promote academic mobility in higher education for both teachers and students among the countries that are part of the European Union (with the exception of Switzerland), the European Economic Area and also with candidate countries such as Turkey.
- Erasmus+ Placements: the Erasmus Placements programme is designed to provide traineeships in companies (pharmaceutical and related industries, pharmacies), training centres, research centres and other organisations in the European Union and associated countries. The Erasmus Traineeship programme allows students to undertake a traineeship in one of the 33 countries that make up the European Union and the programme's associated countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey and North Macedonia) and receive a grant during this period, without a prior agreement between the parties. Therefore, it is the student who must contact the institution or company they wish to work with and request to be accepted. This programme also allows postgraduate students to undertake placements (Erasmus+ Postgraduate Placements). The application must be made before closing the academic record, and the placement takes place once the degree has been completed.
- Global Faculty UB: The Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Barcelona has specific student mobility agreements with various universities around the world, which allow students from the Faculty to undertake academic stays with characteristics similar to the Erasmus programme (exchanges of one or two semesters, exemption from paying tuition fees at the host university and recognition of the courses taken abroad, provided that the relevant procedures are followed).
- Global Mobility UB: The University of Barcelona has specific student mobility agreements with various universities around the world, which allow students from any of the UB faculties to undertake academic stays with characteristics similar to those of the Erasmus programme (exchanges of one or two semesters, waiver of tuition fees at the host university and recognition of the courses taken abroad, provided that the relevant procedures are followed).
- Erasmus+107: the Erasmus+ KA107 programme is part of a package of actions by the European Union that aims to open up the Erasmus programme experience to universities outside the European Union through scholarships to promote academic cooperation between Europe and the rest of the world. Most of the international mobility places in this programme include a monthly grant of around €650 and travel expenses, calculated by mileage, in accordance with Annex 1 of the call.
