Cryogenics Service
It is a Faculty service for cryopreserving samples in liquid nitrogen for the long-term storage of cell culture samples, using security systems that ensure the samples are protected at all times.
The Cryogenics Service (CS) of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences is located on the first floor of Building B, in a space of approximately 9 m².
- Users' Committee of the Cryogenics Service
- Objectives: to supervise and formulate proposals for the improvement of the Service.
- Criteria: one chairperson and one representative from each of the user units.
- Current composition:

- Equipment:
- CM-2000 Freezer.
- MVE 219-190F MDD CE stainless steel Dewar container with TEC 30000 W/SYMB controller and display.
- Stainless steel shelving system for 2 ml cryotubes.
- Tech-50 50 l liquid delivery.
- Oxygen detection system with built-in alarm.
- Functions:
- To provide the research groups of the Faculty of Pharmacy with a centralised and secure space for freezing and cryopreserving cells.
- To centralise the procurement of liquid nitrogen and supply liquid nitrogen (maximum 10 l) for use in the various laboratories of the Faculty.
