Quality

The Faculty of Education implements the internal quality assurance system (IQAS) of the University of Barcelona to ensure the quality of its teaching and services.

The IQAS-UB model was positively certified by AQU Catalunya in 2009 within the framework of the AUDIT programme and was updated in 2019. It encompasses all activities related to the quality of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and is structured around six axes common to all UB centres.

The Faculty develops its quality system in accordance with this model with the aim of ensuring the monitoring, enhancement, and evaluation of its academic programmes.

Internal Quality Assurance System

The system defines and documents the processes required for the design, approval, monitoring, and, where appropriate, modification of degree programmes.
Its implementation is based on the analysis of objective data and the periodic review of results to promote continuous improvement.

Programme evaluations (VSMA framework)

The VSMA framework regulates the processes of verification, monitoring, modification, and accreditation of official qualifications.
In Catalonia, external evaluation is carried out by AQU Catalunya. The process includes pre-implementation verification, periodic monitoring, potential modifications, and final accreditation.
This model applies to Bachelor's degrees, master’s degrees and doctoral programmes.

Data and indicators

The Faculty uses data and indicators to analyze teaching and institutional activity.
This information enables the monitoring of outcomes, the identification of areas for improvement, and the planning of corrective actions. Some indicators are drawn from external public sources, which reinforces transparency and accountability.
