Welcome FAQS
Resolve any questions before starting your studies. If you are unsure whom to contact for different matters, a list of the responsible people and bodies is provided below.
For more information, you can write to pat.educacio@ub.ed.
In July, you will be able to consult the general welcome programme, including the schedules and classrooms assigned to your degree and group.
A credit is the unit of measurement used to quantify the workload required by a course. Courses can have 3, 6, 9, or 12 credits. In Bachelor's degrees, a full academic year corresponds to 60 credits, and 240 credits are required to complete the degree.
One credit corresponds to 25 hours of work, including lectures, independent study, guided work outside class, and preparation and completion of assessments.
The teaching plan for each course specifies this workload. See the next question to learn how to access the teaching plans.
To find out what you will study in your enrolled courses and how you will be assessed, consult the course plans.
You can find them on the Faculty website. Go to Studies > Bachelor's degree > Select “UB Students” > Choose “Course plans”.
In addition, once classes begin, the teaching staff will specify the course content and assessment methods.
To check schedules and classrooms, also visit the Faculty website. Go to Studies > Bachelor's degree > Select “Class Schedules”.
You can do so via the Soc UB app. Having it on your mobile device makes it easier to check your schedule, access your academic record, email, and more.
You can also access it through the Soc UB website.
You can find your email address in Soc UB and on your enrolment receipt.
Access your email at: nuvol.alumnes.ub.edu.
To log in, use:
-
Your UB email address (e.g., jherg007@alumnes.ub.edu)
-
Your password (the same as for your personal UB account or the Virtual Campus)
To verify your UB email, go to “Check Grades and Academic Record” in the La Teva UB personal menu.
Do not use non-UB email accounts to send personal information such as course grades, documents, reports, or certificates.
The Virtual Campus is an online learning environment that supports both face-to-face and blended teaching, as well as independent study. To log in, use the same credentials as for the UB intranet or your personal student account.
It is essential to access the Virtual Campus, as it is where teaching staff upload all course materials (lectures, presentations, etc.) and where you will submit assignments and projects.
By the first week of October at the latest, you must complete a mandatory course on the campus. Failure to do so will result in your courses being deactivated until the course is completed.
You can connect in two ways: via Wi-Fi UB or Eduroam.
Wi-Fi UB
-
In the “user” field, enter the first part of your UB email followed by “.alumnes”.
-
Example: alumne123@alumnes.ub.edu
-
Username: alumne123.alumnes
-
The password is the same as for the Virtual Campus or Soc UB.
Eduroam (recommended)
- Eduroam is an international network that allows internet access at many locations, including universities, schools, and research centres.
- Configure Eduroam on your device.
You can find the Faculty services on the services map.
The email addresses of teaching staff are available in the Virtual Campus of the relevant course, under the “Participants” section—click on the staff member’s name.
PAT stands for Tutorial Action Plan (pla d'acció tutorial). Each Bachelor's degree has its own PAT, which provides guidance on academic and professional matters related to the programme.
All degrees include a specific orientation programme for first-year students called the “Passport to the Profession”. At the start of the academic year, you will receive information about this programme through the Virtual Campus.
Additionally, the Faculty of Education PAT offers various services. If you need curricular adaptations, are a high-performance athlete, or have any other specific situation, consult the PAT.
You can stay informed through social media (Bluesky, Instagram, Facebook), the Soc UB app and the Faculty website.
Additionally, you will receive a weekly email with useful information, including activities, grants and more.
On the Faculty website, you can also find this information under “Student Resources”. On a computer or tablet, the links appear in the left-hand menu; on a mobile device, the menu appears further down the page.
The class representative represents all students in a class. Their main role is to communicate with teaching staff about general class matters (not individual or personal issues). A representative can be elected whenever the class agrees, in coordination with the head of studies.
Information about Faculty activities is available under "Student Resources". Some activities may be eligible for credit recognition. On a computer or tablet, links appear in the left-hand menu; on a mobile device, the menu is displayed further down the page.
