Objectives and competences
Presentation
The double degree in Statistics and Economics provides training in the fundamental aspects of economics and the skills necessary for data collection and statistical analysis.
Organization and methodology
General information
Teaching is structured by semesters, and, in general, subjects are organized into face-to-face activities, guided work activities, and autonomous work activities.
Face-to-face sessions consist of lectures given by the professor and discussions with students about the subject’s content and the issues arising from its theoretical conception and practical application. Guided activities aim to develop students’ work and review their progress.
The Teaching Plan for each subject is the document that outlines the content, teaching and learning methodologies, and assessment systems. In general, the teaching methodologies used in the degree include lectures, presentations, conferences, group work, written assignments, information research, case studies, practical exercises, applied activities, problem-solving, project development, simulations, and external internships.
Class schedules are published before the start of the academic year. First- and second-year classes take place in the Faculty of Economics and Business at UB in the morning, while third- and fourth-year classes are held in the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics at UPC in the afternoon.
