Organization and methodology
General information
The teaching is structured by semesters, and in general, the subjects are organized into in-person activities, directed work activities, and autonomous work activities. In-person sessions consist of the professor's presentation and discussions with students about the content of the subject and the problems arising from its theoretical conception and practical application. Directed activities aim at developing tasks by students, as well as reviewing those tasks.
The syllabus for each subject is the document that outlines both the content, teaching and learning methodologies, and assessment systems. In general, the teaching methodologies used in the degree include: lectures and presentations, conferences, group work, written assignments, information research, case studies, practical exercises, application activities, problem-solving, project development, simulations, and external internships.
Class schedules are published before the start of classes. First- and second-year classes take place at the Faculty of Economics and Business at UB and are held in the morning. Third- and fourth-year classes are held at the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics at UPC in the afternoon.
