​​​​​As a student, you can be an active member of university life. This participation can be linked to representative activities in the University’s governing bodies or in other activities.

It is important to participate in the life of the Faculty: as a student, you have a say in many decisions that affect you. This translates into participation in the different governing bodies. You can be a member of the governing bodies of the whole University and of the Faculty bodies.

As a student, you can also participate in the governing bodies linked to the Faculty studies.

  • Academic council in each course linked to the Faculty there is a Board of Studies made up of a representation of the teaching staff from the departments responsible for teaching the course, and a representation of the students enrolled in the course in a number equal to the number of teachers who are members of the board (more information on the page of the Board of Studies).
  • For each degree linked to the Faculty there is an academic council made up of a representation of the teaching staff of the departments that are responsible for teaching the degree, and a representation of the students enrolled in the degree in a number equal to the number of lecturers who are members of the council. Further information.
  • Master's degree committee: for each university master's degree linked to the Faculty, there is a committee made up of the coordinator of the master's degree, a representative of the teaching staff and a representative of the student body (at least one student per master's degree).

As a student, we offer you several participation resources that may be of interest to you. For example, you can participate in support and tutoring activities for new students or foreign students who come to the Faculty for a mobility stay.

  • Peer tutoring: you can accompany new students under the Tutorial Action Plan (TAP).This activity has credit recognition.
  • Buddy Programme: you can accompany foreign students who come to stay at the Faculty. This activity has credit recognition.

  • Observatory on Students: this is part of the University of Barcelona’s commitment to social responsibility and balanced and sustainable development. More information on the Observatory website.
  • UB Volunteering: a space open to the university community and society in general to contribute to building a university that is more supportive and committed to civil society, for more information see the Solidarity Foundation website.

The regulations governing the Faculty and its governing bodies are called the Regulations of the Faculty of Economics and Business (Catalan version). In this document you can find all the information corresponding to how the Faculty works. The main governing bodies of the Faculty are:

  • Faculty Board: It is the most important collegiate governing body of the Faculty, and its members elect the dean. Thirty per cent of its representatives are students of the Faculty, of whom 28% are undergraduates and 2% are students of university master’s and doctoral programmes.   • Academic Council: For each degree linked to the Faculty there is an academic council made up of a representation of the teaching staff of the departments that are responsible for teaching the degree, and a representation of the students enrolled in the studies in a number equal to the number of teachers who are members of the council.   • Delegated committees of the Board: The Faculty Board may delegate the practise of the powers that may be delegated to the dean's team or to permanent or temporary committees. Read the information on the delegated committees.

Student elections are the mechanism that allows you to choose the students who will represent you in the different governing bodies.

 
  • When are they convened?
    Student elections are held every two years.
  • How are they organized?
    They enable the UB student representatives to be elected to the University Senate, faculty boards, academic councils, the Governing Council, departmental councils and departmental section councils. They are regulated by the Student Elections Regulations and are called by the Office of the Vice-Rector for Students and Language Policy.

Members of an association, group or student collective can participate in one way or another in all issues that affect both students and society in general. The following associations represent the students of the Faculty in the different governing bodies and defend their rights and duties.

A la Facultat hi ha associacions d'estudiants d'àmbit cultural i professional, que organitzen activitats que abracen un ventall ampli de temàtiques com ara xerrades, conferències, fòrums; que editen i publiquen revistes de temes diversos, i que també munten activitats musicals, teatrals, fotogràfiques, poètiques, esportives, etc.

Al llarg del curs, la Facultat organitza diverses activitats adreçades a la participació dels estudiants. Així mateix, les associacions de la Facultat també duen a terme activitats al centre, que són obertes a tota la comunitat d'estudiants i que poden ser del teu interès.

  • Vols organitzar una activitat a la Facultat?
    Per organitzar qualsevol activitat (conferència, assemblea, cicle, etc.) cal emplenar un full de sol·licitud amb les dades de l'acte i acompanyar-lo de tota la informació requerida, perquè el Deganat de la Facultat el pugui autoritzar. Pots descarregar el formulari de sol·licitud. Un cop emplenat, l'has de lliurar al Deganat de la Facultat (dt.economia.empresa@ub.edu).

Com a estudiant, t'oferim diversos recursos de participació que poden ser del teu interès. Per exemple, pots participar en activitats d'acompanyament i tutorització a estudiants de nou accés o als estudiants estrangers que venen a la Facultat per fer una estada de mobilitat.

  • Tutoria entre iguals: pots acompanyar els estudiants de nou accés en el marc del Pla d'Acció Tutorial. Aquesta activitat té reconeixement de crèdits.

  • Buddy Programme: pots acompanyar els estudiants estrangers que venen a fer una estada a la Facultat. Aquesta activitat té reconeixement de crèdits.
