Quality

The Faculty of Economics and Business understands quality as an essential value to guarantee the credibility and trust of university institutions.

We are a center committed to quality, which we see as an important and transversal aspect across all areas of the Faculty to ensure continuous improvement and adaptability to changes in the university context. In fact, we were one of the first centers at the University to certify our IQAS and to be institutionally accredited as a center.

Internal Quality Assurance System

The Faculty of Economics and Business’s Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS-FEE) certified its implementation in 2009 through the extension of positive results from previous evaluations in the AUDIT 2007 call.

The design of this system was based on the guidelines of the AUDIT program, which originated from the standards and recommendations for quality assurance  developed by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and adopted by European Ministers Responsible for Higher Education in Bergen (2005).

Currently, the IQAS-FEE adopts the UB model defined by APQUB based on the six-axis model and follows the established documentation structure.

Verification, Monitoring, Modification, and Accreditation
Throughout the life of official degrees, processes for verification, monitoring, modification, and accreditation (VSMA) occur. The center works to link these internal processes in the most structured and integrated way through the IQAS, promoting efficiency in management and responding to various regulatory requirements.

Data and Indicators

Data and indicators are considered an essential tool for monitoring the situation of relevant aspects of the Faculty. Likewise, their values are a source for creating improvement actions and allow for their follow-up. Some of these indicators come from external sources, publicly available to all stakeholders.

Institutional Accreditation

We obtained institutional accreditation, granted by the AQU on May 25, 2021. This accreditation was later ratified by the Verification and Accreditation Commission for Study Plans of the Council of Universities and published in the Registrar of Universities, Centers, and Degrees.

This accreditation, according to RD 640/2021, implies automatic accreditation for six years of the undergraduate and master’s degrees offered by the Faculty.
