Job Market
The Job Market in economics is the process through which we aim to connect universities, research centers, and other interested institutions with young doctoral students seeking their first academic job.
In recent years, the Faculty has been channeling various academic job opportunities that may be offered by the departments, institutes, and affiliated research groups through this system. Specifically, in the 2011-2012 academic year, eight postdoctoral researchers were hired for the first time through this procedure, and this policy has been maintained, with 18 additional postdoctoral researchers joining in subsequent years. It is worth noting that the first cohorts have already advanced to more stable positions and are now part of the Faculty’s academic staff as lecturers and adjunct lecturers.
We also encourage doctoral students to participate in the Job Market regularly. The Faculty’s Placement Officer and Placement Assistant, on one hand, are responsible for advising doctoral students in this process, and on the other hand, they provide all the additional information that the hiring institutions may require throughout the process.
