I already have a place assigned
Do not stop carefully reading all the information that we put at your disposal to ensure the success of your mobility!
1. Acceptance at foreign university
Once you have been assigned a place, you must complete the acceptance procedures at the host university. Each university has specific procedures and deadlines, so check their website or contact the International Relations Office if you do not receive instructions. Being selected does not guarantee automatic acceptance, since each university can assess factors such as your academic record.
2. Essential procedures
Complete all forms and send the required documentation within the deadlines.
If you need documents signed by the faculty, submit them in time.
If you have any questions, contact the host university directly. Our International Relations Office will only intervene if you do not receive an answer.
3. Regular Documentation
Application form: Application for admission with personal data.
Learning Agreement: Preliminary list of subjects, which can be modified (consult with the host university).
Language level certificate: Provide an official certificate (TOEFL, First, etc.) or an EIM file if you do not have one.
Transcript of Records: The academic record in English (please ask the Secretary).
Accommodation form: Form to request accommodation (if available).
Student visa (out of EU): Extra procedures such as bank documents, language certificates or medical certificates.
4. Schedule before leaving
Query in advance:
Academic offer: Subjects, calendar and requirements.
Registration on arrival: Find out about the necessary procedures in the destination country, such as registration at the International Relations Office.
Language courses: Many universities offer free or inexpensive courses to help you with the language.
Accommodation: Investigate available options (residencies or other alternatives).
Other services: Welcome sessions, student networks, special prices, etc.
5. Final recommendations
Read carefully the guide or website of international students of your destination university.
Plan and complete all the procedures in time to avoid problems such as the loss of deadlines, accommodation options or important services.
Be proactive and plan your stay well! This will help you fully enjoy the exchange experience.
In addition to the procedures with the foreign university, you will also have to manage various procedures with your Faculty (ORI) and the UB (WIPO). Some documents, such as the Learning Agreement, must be submitted to both the host university and the UB, so get ready to make copies if necessary.
Main procedures
With the International Relations Office (ORI): You will manage the academic recognition of the courses you will take abroad.
With WIPO (Office of Mobility and International Programs): You will process the control of the exchange and all the documentation linked through the SOP application, including the management of Erasmus scholarships or the Office of the Vice-Principal, if applicable.
Important: Check the SOP periodically to make sure that all the steps are up to date. You can also find useful information in the Outgoing space and in the faculty's information sessions.
Recognition of courses (ORI)
This process ensures that courses taken abroad are recognized at the UB.
Assigned tutor: You will have a tutor responsible for passing the academic equivalences of the courses. You can check the list of tutors on the ORI Campus.
Equivalence regulations: Read the regulations carefully to avoid problems. Catalan or Spanish subjects, courses already enrolled but not passed, sports, etc. will not be recognized. You will find these regulations in the Outgoing space.
- DEA and LA:
DEA (Academic Equivalence Document): Record the equivalences between the UB courses and those of the host university. It must be approved by the tutor, the head of studies and the institutional coordinator.
(Learning Agreement): Document similar to DEA, which must match content and signatures.
- Enrolment:
All subjects you want to recognize must be previously enrolled at the UB.
No changes will be made to the enrolment once you return from the exchange. Check the enrolment deadlines and instructions in the Outgoing area.
Final tip: Keep the procedures up to date, consult the available documentation and resolve doubts in advance to avoid problems during and after your stay abroad.
Before starting your exchange, it is essential that you take into account other key aspects, such as insurance and visas. Check this information in advance to ensure that you meet all legal and security requirements before traveling. This will help you avoid problems during your stay.
Important information: insurance and visas
- 1. Mandatory medical insurance:
It is essential to have medical insurance that covers your entire stay abroad.
Make sure that the insurance meets the requirements established by the host university and the UB.
- 2. Visa:
If the country of destination requires a visa, manage it in sufficient time to avoid complications.
Consult the specific requirements according to the country you are going to travel to.
