Research Infrastructure

At the Faculty of Economics and Business, we provide a range of resources to support research and innovation in the fields of economics, business, statistics, and sociology.

The various research infrastructures offer users an appropriate environment for conducting different research projects, following the most modern and innovative methodologies.

  • Behavioral Experimental Laboratory (BE Lab)

The laboratory is a fundamental infrastructure for conducting social experiments with up to 24 simultaneous participants. The room where the laboratory is located is equipped with divider screens and the necessary software to run social experiments, specifically using programs like z-Tree and Stata 17, among others.

  • High-Performance Computing Server

We have a high-performance computing server, specifically dedicated to research tasks that require high computational power, which are difficult to execute on desktop or laptop computers. The server includes a wide range of research programs, including Stata/MP 17 (32 cores), R 4.2.1, MATLAB 2022a, QGIS 3.22.7, Python 3.10, Mathematica, Julia LTS 1.6.6, GFortran, and others.

At the Faculty, we have also installed 86” touch screens in various seminar rooms, workshops, and other research spaces:

  • Building 690: Rooms 1001, 1012, 1016, 1017, 1018, 1019, 1020, 1021, 1029, 1030, 1031, 1032, 1035, 1036, 1037, 1038, 1101, 1102, 1104, 1106, 1107, Reception Room, Degree Room, and Meeting Room.
  • Building 696: Rooms 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2019 (with two screens), 2020, 2302, 2303, and computer rooms 2004 and 2005.

In room 1037, the Sala de Recepcions, and the Sala de Graus (boardroom), we have also incorporated a soundbar that acts as both a speaker and microphone, allowing the room’s sound to be captured without the need for individual microphones.

Additionally, faculty and students at the University have free access to licenses for various programs particularly useful for research tasks, such as ArcGIS, MS Office, Mathematica, MATLAB, etc.
